Prosthodontics is one of nine dental specialties recognized by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik & Dental Council of India. Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.
Department is provided with staff rooms, sterilization room, computer room, departmental library, store room, seminar room, P.G. common room, clinics & laboratory for P.G. along with Implant section separately. The Clinical section is provided with fully functional dental chairs and units with all the accessories. All the required equipment & instruments are available in adequate quantity according to D.C.I. & M.U.H.S. norms.
Implant section is facilitated with two dental chairs, two implant kits, X-ray machine & sterilization equipment. Sterilization room includes all the conventional as well as advance sterilization equipment. Store room consists of the area where all the consumable & non-consumable dental materials are stored.
Seminar room is having display screen, LCD projector & adequate seating capacity for staff members & P.G. Students. P.G. common room is provided with lockers for students & seating arrangement. The Laboratory section includes high tech laboratory for Ceramic and Nickel chrome work separately. Additional laboratories for the demonstration of dental material and prosthodontics work are available. Departmental library consists of various books of complete dentures, removable partial dentures, fixed partial denture, implants, cosmetic dentistry & maxillo-facial prosthesis.
